    About Te Au Moana (The Ocean Tide)

     

    The luau tells the rich stories of Maui and the Pacific through vibrant songs and dances. Explore Polynesian traditions like fishing, gift-giving, and tapa-making, all celebrated in this cultural showcase.

     

    The Show

     

    * Act I: Legendary tales of Maui lifting the heavens, slowing the sun, and fishing islands from the sea.

    * Act II: Dances from Tahiti, Tonga, and the Cook Islands, highlighting Oceania’s interconnected cultures.

    *Act III: A tribute to Maui with ukulele music, hula, a torch dance, and a thrilling fire-knife performance.


     

    Event Timeline

    * 4:00 PM: Banquet staff begins welcoming guests.

    * 4:30 PM: Bar and cashier hut open. Photo opportunities with fresh flower leis.

    * 5:15 PM: Live music and interactive cultural stations begin, including:

    * Lei-making

    * Coconut husking

    * Hula dancing

    * Hawaiian crafts and games

    * 5:30 PM: Imu (underground oven) unearthing.

    * 5:45 PM: Buffet opens.

    * 7:00 PM: Te Au Moana show begins.

    * 8:00 PM: Evening concludes.

    * Coconut Husking: Watch and learn how coconuts are traditionally processed into milk and oil.
