4-Hour Bottom-Sportfishing from Maalaea

MAUI Activities - Get on board this state-of-the-art 43' Delta, offering the only morning 4-hour bottom & sportfishing charter 3 days a week from the Maalaea Boat Harbor, a very convenient location for those staying in South and Central Maui.

A typical half day bottom-sportfishing charter aboard Strike Zone will have you depart promptly at 7am from Slip #64 at Maalaea Harbor and returning at 11 am. Depending upon the weather conditions and the species recently being caught, the boat usually high speed trolls the offshore waters of Maui, Lanai and Kahoolawe as the captain and crew search for signs of fish.

On any given day it is possible to encounter any or all of the classic big game trophy fish including Pacific Blue Marlin, Black Marlin, Striped Marlin, Shortbilled spearfish, Yellowfin Tuna, Skipjack Tuna, Mahi Mahi and Ono.

Morning Bottom-Sports Fishing charters take a maximum of 12 anglers and 6 riders. A minimum of 4 anglers is required in order for a charter to be confirmed.

EQUIPMENT/ TACKLE USED: Strike Zone is equipped with a state of the art electronic depth recorder, and a GPS Nav/Plotter. Fishing tackle onboard includes 20#, 50#, 80# and 130# test with Penn International reels. The vessel is equipped with outriggers and a 130 Pompanette 130 Tournament Series fighting chair.

FISHING STYLES: High speed troll using artificial lures. They can also utilize deabait, stripbait, or live bait when available. While trolling, the captain and crew search for signs of fish. These signs could include flocks of seabirds feeding on schooling bait, and drifting flotsam which can attract trophy fish.

CAPACITY: Strike Zone can accommodate 16 anglers on their sportfishing trips, and more non-fishing passengers, with a maximum occupancy of 21.

ABOUT THE VESSEL: Strike Zone, is a U.S. Coast Guard certified, 43' Delta licensed to carry up to 38 passengers. The vessel features full walk around decks so you can fish all around.

Cancellations must be made by calling our concierge lines at 808-214-9283.  We will not accept cancellations via email, voicemail, fax or chatline. You must call at least 48 hours before the event for credit or refund to be applied. Some activities require a longer notice or will not allow cancellations once booking is made (each tour description will show exceptions to the 48 hour rule if applicable). Activities are 100% refunded in the event of your tour being canceled by the Activity Provider for any reason, such as weather, mechanical, etc. Ohana Fun!
