    Daily from Maui, this Big Island Volcano Sunset Flight departs daily from Kahului, Maui. Explore the world's most active volcano area and see both Maui and the Big Island in the same trip. This 2 hour tour departs from the Kahului Commuter Terminal, located by the Kahului International Airport.

    HIGHLIGHTS OF THE TRIP:

    Following your departure from Kahului Commuter terminal at the International Airport, you fly along the north shore of Maui to Heavenly Hana and then cross the Alenuihaha Channel to the north shore of the Big Island. You see spectacular Kohala cliffs and waterfalls, and then follow the Hamakua Coast to Akaka Falls and on to Hilo. Then you proceed to the active volcano area viewing areas that are accessible only by air. Weather permitting, you return toward Maui through the saddle between Mauna Loa and Mauna Kea, fly over the Parker Ranch, cross the channel again, follow the south shore of Maui and watch a romantic Hawaiian sunset from the sky. You explore over 300 miles before landing at Kahului Airport. Volcano activity and weather is variable making each tour a unique adventure. Actual flight times and routing may vary.

    This is a very popular air tour and seats are limited so it is a good idea to book your reservations before you get to Maui!

    Volcano Air Tours boasts a perfect safety record and is the only airplane tour company on Maui. Featuring air-conditioned airplanes and authorized to fly low scenic air tours over Volcanoes National Park. Every passenger has a large rectangular window which makes it easy to see out both sides of the airplane and a stereo headset to listen to the pilot's narration and stereo music.

    You will also see breathtaking rain forests, Heavenly Hana, spectacular beaches including black sand beaches, scenic coastline views, dramatic cliffs, cascading waterfalls, the world's largest dormant volcano (Haleakala) on Maui and lava flows in an active volcano area on the Big Island of Hawaii. During whale season you may spot whales, and, if you are really lucky, you might find a full circle rainbow while flying around a little rain shower. Each tour is a unique adventure with different sights to see, so remember to take your cameras and lots of extra film and wear dark shirts to reduce glare for photos. Volcano activity and weather are variable making each tour a unique adventure.

    Our concierges will be contacting you in order to get each passenger's body weight.  It's important that the correct body weights be reported so that vendor may be able to assign seating and provide comfort and safety for all on board. Passengers will be weighed upon check-in.

    There is a comfort seat surcharge which applies to all passengers weighing between 260 and 290 lbs.  We apologize for any inconvenience but this tour cannot accommodate anyone weighing over 290 lbs.
