    About Piiholo Ranch
Piiholo Ranch is an 800-acre working cattle ranch owned by Peter Baldwin and his sons Jeff, Duke (natural resource manager) and Chris (cattle operations manager) in keeping with seven generations of the Baldwin ranching tradition on Maui. The Ranch tour operations include horseback trail rides and lessons, and Hawaii's newest and longest zipline eco-adventure. Situated on Piiholo Road near the paniolo (Hawaiian cowboy) town of Makawao, the ranch is at an elevation of 2000 feet on Mt. Haleakala with bi-coastal Pacific Ocean views. A towering eucalyptus forest with many native plant and tree species dot the countryside, and common wildlife sightings include axis deer, mountain boar, the endangered Hawaiian Pueo (owl) and Nene geese. A nursery and preserve for Hawaii’s state bird, the endangered Nene, is located on the ranch and is the first and only on Maui listed under the State Safe Harbor Agreement. More than 300 head of cattle roam the ranch, and 40 horses are corralled on the property. A rodeo arena hosts state-wide roping event.

    TRIP ADVISOR REVIEWS:

    "Piiholo Soars above the Rest"
We originally booked with another zipline tour company, but was told by the Four Seasons hotel staff that the Piiholo was the better due to the harness that you sit in. The other company has a simple strap-like harness and Piiholo utilizes a more robust seat style. We opted for the more comfortable ride.
We also went for the 5 line zip package. It is the most expensive, but worth the extra money. You miss out on the longest zipline by opting for the 4 line tour.
The guides (Canoe, Forrest Princess - F.P. for short, and James) were funny, knowledgeable, competent and educational. They didn't pressure you to hurry up and they took safety seriously.
We chose to tip them at the end of the tour because they earned every dollar of it. I can't recommend them enough.

    "Excellent Time"
I went on the Zipline tour on February 23 2010 during the morning. It was the first time ever for my wife and I on this type of ride. Our group consisted of ten people and were ably led by four very nice and helpful staff members, Zane, Matty, Marcus, and Courtney. Only one member of our party had ever been on a Zip line before and they thought Piiholo was a much better ride. We went on the 5 line zipline tour and it was worth the price. The weather was perfect and we had an excellent view of the ranch and surroundings. Its a very scenic area which made it perfect for picture taking. During the whole time you couldn't help but notice the safety mindset of the entire staff. They checked and double checked all the equipment before each ride which made the rides all the more fun since you knew you were in good hands. The staff was especially helpful to my wife. She had hurt her leg two weeks prior and didn't want to miss this trip and ride. I highly recommend this attraction.
