MAUI Activities - This 40-50 minute helicopter flight in Maui is famous for attracting those who really want to experience more than just the view, but seek also a thrill! You will board the Hughes 500, a four passenger helicopter, where every seat is a window seat. This “doors off” flight begins by soaring over acres of Maui's central Sugarcane fields while heading right into the heart of Maui's 10,000 foot Haleakala Volcano Crater... then, it's off to the incredible Hana Rainforests and the Sacred Pools at O'heo. You will also view the incredible waterfalls that simply can't be seen from the ground. Who knows, you might even get a sprinkle! You will also fly right along the pristine Maui North Shore coastlines...Simply put... this one's SPECTACULAR!
DOOR OFF POLICIES:
1. Minimum age of 12 years old. (10 & 11 under certain circumstances - call for details)
2. Closed Toe Shoes, No Sandals
3. Long Pants and Long Sleeve Shirts are recommended.
4. No Hats or Caps
5. Glasses must have a "Leash"
6. No Cell Phones allowed on board
7. No Purses or Bags of any kind allowed on board.
8. Only one small cameras or one Small Video Camera which must have a lanyard attached to it and the lanyard must be attached to the wrist or neck throughout the entire flight.
9. All Passengers must check in 45 minutes prior to flight time.
10.Actual sights, routes and flight times may vary due to weather and other conditions.

What a ride. We did the doors off trip with Dave over west Maui and Molokai. We had wanted the Haleakala tour but the weather prevented flights over the crater so we were given the option of rescheduling or taking the Molokai trip. I was glad we did since we saw wonderful scenery on Molokai and whales swimming below us. Dave's narrative, including identifying sites used in Jurassic Park, was great and when my husband said that he had served with a copter unit in Viet Nam, Dave (another vet) spent extra time describing the aircraft. I was in the front seat between Dave and my husband and had fantastic views all round, including under my feet. Alex Air gave a good safety briefing and I felt totally safe at all times. After the trip we chatted with another Alex Air employee who answered lots of questions and was genuinely interested in talking to us. I wouldn't hesitate to do the ride again, especially with Alex Air.PRICE DOES NOT INCLUDE MANDATORY FUEL SURCHARGE ($62.50).
