Zack is a native of Malibu, California and has been competing professionally for the past 15 years, in places like South Africa, Costa Rica, Brazil, Indonesia, and Hawaii, where he's been calling home since 2005.

Your Maui private group surf lesson will be tailored for each individual, whether a beginner, intermediate or advanced surfer and will . Once your reservation has been confirmed with Zack, you should expect to receive a call from the pro surfer himself, in order to hear more about you and your past experience surfing, if any. A typical beginner lesson starts with a 10-15 minute session on the beach, where you'll learn how to paddle, stand up, stay up, and be safe in the water. Once you're in the ocean, Zack will be at your side to help you catch waves and provide instruction every step of the way. Customers must be 7 years old and up.

Groups are kept small (maximum of 5 participants per instructor) to ensure everyone receives personal instruction. You'll paddle out as a group and catch waves continuously, learning wave etiquette and honing your technique.

LOCATIONS
An ideal surfing spot for beginners and intermediates, right on Hono'apiilani Highway, Puamana Beach boasts gentle waves that break close to the shore. Puamana is located 10 minutes from Lahaina and Kaanapali resorts and 25 minutes from Kihei, Makena and Wailea resorts. Surf lessons are held 200 yards south of Puamana Beach Park, across from mile marker 19 on the highway.
Zack teaches 99% of all scheduled lessons. In the unlikely event Zack is not available to teach your lesson himself, he has an alternate pro-surfer on his staff that will do a great job and fulfill everyone's expectations to "surf with a pro" and guarantees you will be completely satisfied.

Cancellations must be made by calling our concierge lines at 808-214-9283.  We will not accept cancellations via email, voicemail, fax or chatline. You must call at least 48 hours before the event for credit or refund to be applied. Some activities require a longer notice or will not allow cancellations once booking is made (each tour description will show exceptions to the 48 hour rule if applicable). Activities are 100% refunded in the event of your tour being canceled by the Activity Provider for any reason, such as weather, mechanical, etc. Ohana Fun!
