MAUI Activities - For those who just can't resist the temptation of being spoiled by VIP check-in, best tables at the luau (1st two rows), preferred side service and being the first to get to that spectacular buffet table, the Grand Luau at Honua'ula is offering a limited number of "preferred status" seats on every show. Preferred seats are limited and are booked up regularly, so advanced reservations are a MUST!
The show... Honua'ula takes us back to a time when the mighty seafaring Polynesians discovered this land of Hawaii, thereafter calling themselves Hawaiian. It touches upon the documented voyages of La'amaikahiki and Moikeha who first came to this sacred island we call Maui, specifically this area named Honua'ula. It speaks of gods and goddesses that watched over these courageous people and how they were able to co-exist and live in harmony.Pele, the goddess of fire is described as one who came prior to the settlers, paving the way with her lava so there would be land sufficient for the Hawaiian people to live. Lilinoe, the goddess of the mist was said to linger above sending cool rains to nourish the lands.
The mermaid of Maui, Kananaka, swooned near the surfers and tried to capture them for fun. The love story legend of Naulu, the goddess of the clouds could only visit her lover Kanaloa in upon the clouds.
These stories combined create an exciting evening of traditional chant and hula bringing the history of our island home Maui, to life. Hele Mai, come and enjoy the magical enchantment of Honua'ula.Full buffet style dinner is served offering a variety of Hawaiian favorites including Sauteed Island Fish, Lau Lau, Imu Baked Kalua Pig, Grilled Teriyaki Steak, Shoyu Chicken, Hawaiian Sweet Potatoes with Coconut Milk and Honey, Hawaiian Fried Rice, Stir Fry Vegetables and Steamed White Rice, Poi and Taro Rolls. The always inspiring dessert buffet offers Haupia, Macadamia Nut Cake, Coconut Macaroons, Banana Cream Pie, Coconut Cream Cake, Chocolate Key Lime Cake, Pineapple Upside Down Cake, Strawberry Cream Cake, Chocolate Brownies and Fresh Tropical Fruit Salad. You will then enjoy an inspiring display of "kahiko" or ancient hula followed by the revue by Paradyse and Ka Poe O Hawaii, taking you on a journey through the Pacific with exotic costumes and talented dancers.
